Acceptance of Al-Nassr's Protest Regarding Al-Ruwaili's Participation.. The Decision Ignites the Saudi League Standings
Monday 26-05-2025
The Saudi Sports Arbitration Center has revived hope for Al-Nassr after accepting the club's protest against the participation of Rafe' Al-Ruwaili, the goalkeeper of Al-Urouba, in the 23rd round of the Roshan League.

The decision included counting the result in favor of Al-Nassr, increasing the team's tally to 70 points and propelling them to third place in the standings, which has revitalized their chances of qualifying for the elite AFC Champions League.

Al-Nassr's protest was based on the fact that Al-Ruwaili was not a professional athlete, as he holds a government job, which violates the professional regulations, and Al-Urouba was penalized with a fine of 50,000 Riyals.

According to reports from the sports newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah", Al-Nassr's documents showed that Al-Urouba was aware of Al-Ruwaili's continued employment, which invalidated his legal participation in the match.

The decision is final and non-appealable, giving Al-Nassr a significant advantage in the battle for third place, with only one round remaining until the end of the season, and a crucial challenge against Al-Fateh.

If Al-Hilal draws or loses against Al-Qadisiyah, and Al-Nassr wins against Al-Fateh, the direct encounters will guarantee "Al-Alami" a spot in the Champions League, in one of the most thrilling finishes.

However, if Al-Hilal wins, Al-Nassr will have to focus on the King’s Cup final, hoping that Al-Ittihad beats Al-Qadisiyah to participate in the second edition of the AFC Champions League.

A state of alert and anticipation prevails among the league fans, as the final round and the anticipated final will determine the fate of three teams, in an intense three-way battle for the major continental slots.
