Officially.. Mbappe Secures the European Golden Shoe Award
Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has clinched the European Golden Shoe award, surpassing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyökeres.
Mbappe finished the season with 31 goals in La Liga, totaling 62 points, leading the Golden Shoe rankings, ahead of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon, who scored 39 goals in the Portuguese league, totaling 58.5 points.
Mohamed Salah came in third place, scoring 29 goals in the Premier League, totaling 58 points.
Mbappe has become the second French player to win the Golden Shoe after Thierry Henry.
Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski has 25 goals and will play tonight against Bilbao, but it will be impossible for him to surpass Mbappe.
It is worth noting that the scoring system in the top five leagues awards two points for each goal, while goals in lower-ranked leagues are counted as one and a half points.
