The media figure Ahmed Shobair commented on the interest of a European marketing company in Al-Ahly star Hamza Abdel Karim.

Shobair stated in remarks during his radio program: "According to my information, there is a very large marketing company, the same company that was responsible for Omar Marmoush's transfer to Manchester City, which is currently interested in signing Hamza Abdel Karim, the young striker of Al-Ahly, and is preparing trial offers for him from clubs in the Spanish league and Bayern Munich in Germany."

He continued: "The strange thing is that Hamza has only participated with Al-Ahly for two minutes in an official match, despite the presence of big strikers within the team, but why are opportunities not given to the club's own sons? Unfortunately, we tend to favor players who come from abroad, as some still view Hamza as a small child."

Shobair added: "Look at Lamine Yamal, who is a strong candidate for the best player in the world, a player who has not yet turned 17, has secured the award for the best player in the Spanish league, contributed to Barcelona winning the league, and was one of the reasons for Spain's victory in the European Championship. He was also close to leading his team to the Champions League final if it weren't for luck against Inter Milan."

Shobair talked about the crisis of lack of confidence in local talents, saying: "Unfortunately, in Egypt, we do not have this culture, there is always fear from the fans or the media, but the reality is that history proves we used to give opportunities to young players. Hossam Hassan played for Al-Ahly at the age of 18 and participated with the national team at 20, Ikrami guarded Al-Ahly's goal at 17, and El Khatib started his career at 18, along with others like Motaab, Hossam Ghaly, Hosni Abd Rabou, and Ahmed Fathy."

He concluded: "Clubs shut the door on talents and prefer foreign deals, and then we regret when the young player shines elsewhere after leaving, and even when he proves himself after getting a chance, he is returned to the bench on the pretext that he is still young."
