German coach Jürgen Klopp responded to recent rumors linking him to the coaching position of the Italian team Roma, succeeding coach Claudio Ranieri.
Italian media reports had claimed that Roma had reached an agreement with Klopp to take over the coaching of the team.
Klopp stated in press remarks, "I will not become the new coach of AS Roma. This story is nonsense."
He added, "If you read any rumors about me taking on a coaching position in the next few years, that is nonsense. Be the first to say that."
Klopp had left Liverpool at the end of the current season and is currently serving as the director of football at Red Bull, which owns several European clubs.
