Deco, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, confirmed that the young star Lamine Yamal is attracting interest from several top European clubs, notably Paris Saint-Germain, while Real Madrid has not made any inquiries about the player so far.

Deco said: "Paris Saint-Germain inquired about Lamine Yamal last season, but Real Madrid has never contacted us. We do not wish to listen to offers; we want him to stay at Barcelona."

He added: "Lamine will renew his contract with Barcelona this summer as soon as he turns 18 on July 13. The renewal process is going very well, and it is a top priority for the club."

He continued: "Lamine has an unnatural maturity for his age. I have a son the same age, and what he offers on the pitch is exceptional. He possesses high quality and self-confidence, which is rare for a player who is only 17 years old."

He went on: "What is said about him asking to be the highest-paid player in the team is not true. All he wants is to be happy at Barcelona. He has not asked for anything unreasonable, and he deserves a contract that reflects his level."

He confirmed: "Lamine needs to live his age, but at the same time, he is a high-level player and should be happy. For me, there is no better club for him than Barcelona. The most important thing is not the salary value, but his happiness and development in the right place."
