Burnley Football Club has officially announced the signing of young defender Bashir Humphreys, coming from Chelsea on a four-year contract, following his impressive performance during his loan period with the team last season.

The 22-year-old defender participated in 28 matches wearing the Burnley jersey this season, showcasing strong performances that made him a key player in the lineup, prompting the club's management to finalize the deal.

In his first comment after signing the contract, Humphreys expressed his happiness, saying: "I am over the moon, since joining Burnley last summer, I felt like I was at home, and now I am a permanent part of this club, which is special to me."

He added: "The atmosphere within the club is fantastic, both from the team and the fans, it’s one of the best groups I have played with."

He concluded his remarks by affirming: "The team spirit here is indescribable, it may sound cliché but it’s true, we are excited for what’s coming in the Premier League."
