In a massive organizational step, preparations are underway to merge the Saudi Professional League with the First Division League, to unify administrative efforts under one umbrella, starting its operations with the upcoming sports season.

According to what was reported by the newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah", the merger project has entered its critical phases, as regulations and administrative systems are currently being prepared to organize joint work and ensure the new season launches with a unified approach.

This step came after a series of meetings that included representatives from the Ministry of Sports, the Professional League, the First Division League, in addition to the Saudi Football Federation, to discuss all organizational details of the merger.

It is worth noting that the Saudi Professional League, established in 2008, is one of the most important football entities in the Kingdom and has contributed to elevating the management level of the professional league, which is considered one of the strongest leagues in Asia.

As for the First Division League, established at the beginning of 2022, it is responsible for organizing the competitions of the First Division League, and it includes 18 clubs that strive for promotion and competition at the highest levels.
