Al Ahly Responds to Controversial Ad
The advertisement related to Al Ahly and one of the telecommunications companies, published after the match between Al Ahly and Al Ahly Bank yesterday, Saturday, sparked a state of controversy.
Mohamed Al-Garhi, a member of the Al Ahly Board of Directors, commented on the advertisement via Facebook, saying: "It's a really nice ad... Enough of sensitivities that don't exist in reality... What color is the car? This is its color all over the world... Even ask Google."
Zamalek Club considered the advertisement offensive to them, as it shows a person in a hysterical state being pulled towards an ambulance, in a context that some considered a direct embodiment of a Zamalek fan.
The match between Al Ahly and Al Ahly Bank in the league ended with the Red Giant winning 2-1.
