Villarreal Club achieved a valuable victory over its rival Barcelona with a score of 3-2 in the match that brought the two teams together in the 37th round of the Spanish league.

Villarreal opened the scoring early in the match through Ayoze Pérez in the fourth minute, but Barcelona responded by equalizing in the 38th minute with a goal from Lamine Yamal after a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Fermín López managed to score a goal to give Barcelona the lead in the 45+5 minute, before Villarreal equalized in the 51st minute with a goal from Santi Comesaña.

The players of Villarreal did not give up and continued their attacking attempts on Barcelona's goal until they succeeded in scoring the third goal in the 80th minute through Tajon Buchanan.

With this precious victory, Villarreal raised its tally to 67 points in fifth place in the Spanish league standings, securing qualification for the Champions League, while Barcelona's tally remained at 85 points at the top of the table.

It is worth mentioning that Barcelona had succeeded in winning the Spanish league title after defeating Espanyol with two clean goals in the previous round of the tournament.
