Laurent Blanc Enters History of Al-Ittihad with League Title
The French coach Laurent Blanc achieved an exceptional accomplishment by leading Al-Ittihad to win the Saudi Roshan League title for the 2024-2025 season, in his first coaching experience with the team.
Al-Ittihad secured the title two rounds before the end of the competition after defeating Al-Raed with a score of 3-1 in a match held at King Abdullah Sports City in Buraidah.
With this achievement, Blanc became the first French coach to win the league title in his first season, among nine coaches who previously achieved this from various nationalities.
The list of coaches who succeeded in winning the league title in their first season includes prominent names such as Argentine Gabriel Calderón with Al-Ittihad in 2008/2009, and Belgian Eric Gerets with Al-Hilal in 2009/2010.
The list also included other names like Michel Preud'homme, Ramón Díaz, Juan Brown, Rui Vitória, Razvan Lucescu, and Nuno Santo, who successfully led their clubs to win the championship in their first season.
