Al-Ghandour Defends Yasser Ibrahim, Al-Ahly Star
Media figure Khaled Al-Ghandour defended Yasser Ibrahim, the star of Al-Ahly, after severe attacks from fans against him.
The player had scored an own goal in the second leg of the African Champions League semi-final against Sundowns, leading to Al-Ahly's exit from the tournament, as the second leg ended in a 1-1 draw, while the first leg had ended in a 0-0 draw.
Al-Ghandour said on 'On Sport' channel: 'Yasser Ibrahim gifted Al-Ahly 4 points; in the match against Petrojet in the league, he saved Al-Ahly's goal from a certain goal, with the score being 3-2 for the Reds. In the last round match against Ceramica Cleopatra, he cleared the ball off the goal line with the score being 1-0 for Al-Ahly.'
He added: 'We must give Yasser Ibrahim his due for saving Al-Ahly in a difficult time, just as we held him accountable for the exit from the Champions League.'
