Ednaldo Rodriguez Removed from the Presidency of the Brazilian Football Confederation

The Brazilian judiciary officially decided on Thursday evening to remove Ednaldo Rodriguez from his position as president of the Brazilian Football Confederation.

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced that Fernando Sarney, the vice president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, will temporarily assume the presidency.

The football federation in Brazil added that Fernando Sarney will call for new elections for the presidency of the Brazilian Football Confederation "as soon as possible".

The Brazilian Football Confederation had announced a few days ago the signing of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to take over the national team starting from May 26.
