Al Ahly Player Approaches Saudi Club
Press sources have indicated that one of the stars of Al Ahly Egyptian club is nearing a transfer to the Saudi league this summer, despite ongoing discussions regarding the renewal of his contract with the club at present.
Al Ahly is negotiating with its defender Rami Rabi'a to renew his contract, which expires this summer, but the talks have not been positive so far due to the player's financial demands.
According to media personality Ahmed Shoubeir, one of the officials at Pyramids has informed him that Rami Rabi'a has agreed with a Saudi club on a two-year contract.
Shoubeir added that Rabi'a has requested $1.6 million from Al Ahly and will continue if the club agrees to his request, but the chances of the player staying are slim.
He continued: "Yasser Ibrahim renewed his contract with Al Ahly, but I blame the club for its delay in finalizing the renewal process with players whose contracts expire at the end of the season."
Earlier media reports had indicated the possibility of Rami Rabi'a transferring to Pyramids or Zamalek if he does not renew his contract with Al Ahly.
