Real Madrid Makes Important Request to Liverpool
Wednesday 14-05-2025
Real Madrid has requested Liverpool to allow the free transfer of Alexander Arnold before his contract ends on June 30, in order for him to participate with the team in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will kick off on June 14 in the United States.

Although the English defender will officially join Real Madrid in a free transfer deal, the Spanish club hopes to convince Liverpool to let the player leave early without compensation, especially with the club's desire to include him in the squad that will compete in the group stage against Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia, Pachuca from Mexico, and Salzburg from Austria.

According to reports, the player may waive his salary during the last month of his contract as a step to facilitate his early transfer, while Liverpool has not received any official financial offer yet, amid previous news about Real Madrid's willingness to pay a nominal amount ranging between £500,000 and £850,000, which has not happened yet.

Under FIFA regulations, Real Madrid can register Arnold during an exceptional registration period within the tournament between June 27 and July 3, but this cannot happen without Liverpool's approval, as the player cannot leave until his contract officially ends.
