Tuesday 13-05-2025
The police club continued its strong performances and relentless pursuit of the Iraqi Premier League title, achieving a significant away victory against Al-Karma with a score of 4-0, in a match held at Al-Ramadi Stadium on Tuesday evening, as part of the 33rd round of the championship.

The police entered the match fully aware that any slip would cost them the top spot they share with Al-Zawraa, showing their attacking intentions from the very first moments through pressure from the flanks and quick transitions.

This pressure translated into the first goal in the 38th minute by Bassam Shakir, who took advantage of a ball inside the penalty area and confidently shot it into the net, ending the first half with a well-deserved lead for the police.

In the second half, the pace of the game increased, and international star Mohanad Ali 'Mimi' showcased his decisive touch, scoring the second goal for the police in the 62nd minute after a remarkable individual effort inside the penalty area, before the same player added the third goal in the 77th minute, confirming the police's complete dominance over the match's proceedings.

Before the referee blew the final whistle, Ahmed Yahya concluded the goal festival with a fourth goal in the 95th minute, ending the match with a wide and deserved victory for the Green Lyre.

On the other hand, Al-Karma, led by coach Ahmed Khalaf, was unable to keep up with the pace of the police, despite the significant fan support and enthusiasm leading up to the match, but the technical and experience differences played a crucial role in the guests' superiority.

With this victory, the police raised their points tally to 71, continuing to lead the standings alongside Al-Zawraa, while Al-Karma's tally remained at 46 points in ninth place.
