Hamad Al-Montashari stirred controversy after a surprising comment regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's absence from the Al-Nassr match against Al-Akhidood, which ended in a crushing 9-0 victory for Al-Nassr.

During his media appearance, Al-Montashari was asked about the possibility of the Portuguese star transferring to either Al-Ittihad or Al-Shabab, and he firmly rejected the idea, stating: "If the decision were up to me, I would not sign him for Al-Ittihad."

Al-Montashari confirmed that he does not like the idea of Ronaldo wearing the club's jersey, despite the remarkable performance the player is showcasing with Al-Nassr this season, where he is considered one of the top stars in the Saudi Roshan League.

On his part, Ahmad Al-Ateef, the former star of Al-Shabab, fully supported Al-Montashari's stance, pointing out that his team does not need Cristiano, given that Al-Shabab has a decisive striker in Abdulrazak Hamdallah.

Al-Ateef emphasized that Hamdallah is delivering impressive performances, making him the most suitable option for the team at present, which diminishes the importance of considering signing big names from abroad, even if the name is Cristiano Ronaldo.
