Officially: Egypt U-20 National Team Qualifies for the 2025 World Cup
The Egypt youth team has officially secured its place in the U-20 World Cup after qualifying for the semi-finals of the African U-20 Cup of Nations, currently being held in Egypt from April 27 to May 18.
The Pharaohs' qualification to the semi-finals came after a thrilling victory over the Ghanaian team in a penalty shootout, thus securing one of the spots allocated to Africa in the World Cup.
The U-20 World Cup 2025 will be held in Chile from September 27 to October 19, and this qualification marks the ninth in the history of the Egypt youth team, and the first since the Turkey 2013 edition, after a 12-year absence from the World Cup.
It is worth mentioning that the Pharaohs' youth team missed the last four editions of the tournament, making a strong return to the global stage in anticipation of a new competition among the elite.
