The Egyptian club Al Ahly is close to finalizing the file concerning the new foreign coaching staff to lead the first team in the upcoming phase, succeeding Swiss coach Marcel Kohler.

The club had assigned the task of managing the team to Emad Nassar until the end of the season, following Kohler's dismissal after being eliminated from the African Champions League in the semi-finals by Sundowns.

Reports indicate that Al Ahly is in advanced negotiations with Spanish coach Jose Rivero, the former coach of Orlando, to lead the red team in place of Kohler.

It is noteworthy that Orlando Pirates officially announced in recent hours the departure of Rivero from leading the South African team to sign with another club.

Reports have indicated that Al Ahly is intensifying its negotiations with Rivero, but a final agreement has not been reached due to other offers on the table for the Spanish coach.
