Luis Enrique Wins Best Coach Award in Ligue 1
Spanish coach Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, was awarded the Best Coach in Ligue 1 for the 2024/2025 season during the annual ceremony organized by the French Professional Players' Association on Sunday evening.
Despite winning the award, Enrique was absent from the ceremony, as the French newspaper 'L'Équipe' reported that he preferred to watch the Clasico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, which ended with Barcelona winning 4-3, instead of attending the ceremony.
Enrique became the first coach of Paris Saint-Germain to win the award since his compatriot Unai Emery in 2018.
This season, Luis Enrique led the Parisian team to win the Ligue 1 title and the Super Cup, and has qualified for the final of the French Cup to face Reims on May 24, and will play the UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31 at the Allianz Arena.
