Reports have revealed that Manchester City has reached a verbal agreement with young Juventus defender Nicolo Savona, in preparation for his signing during the upcoming summer transfer window, as an alternative option to his compatriot and teammate Andrea Cambiaso.

City had previously shown interest in signing Cambiaso last January, but the deal did not materialize. However, according to 'Football Italia', the option to sign him remains open alongside alternative names, most notably Savona.

According to the report, there is a verbal agreement between City and Savona regarding personal terms, with Juventus management willing to negotiate his sale in the summer.

Negotiations between the English club and the player's agent are expected to continue in the coming period to reach a final agreement.

Savona, who is 21 years old, is considered one of the rising talents at Juventus, having participated in 36 matches across all competitions this season, including 27 in Serie A and 7 in the Champions League. He also recently received his first call-up to the Italian national team under Spalletti.

It is worth mentioning that Manchester City is also considering other names for the full-back position, such as Tino Livramento from Newcastle and Wesley Franco from Flamengo.
