Officially.. Alonso announces his departure from Leverkusen
Xabi Alonso, the coach of the German team Leverkusen, has officially announced his departure from the German team at the end of the current season.
Alonso said in a press conference he held today: "It is time to confirm that the next two matches are my last matches as coach of Leverkusen."
Leverkusen will play against Dortmund and Mainz in the closing of the German league on May 11 and 17.
Alonso is set to join Real Madrid to take over coaching the team, succeeding Carlo Ancelotti, who will coach the Brazilian national team.
According to Spanish press, Alonso's contract with Real Madrid will be for 3 years.
