Zamalek Statement Regarding Delay in Resolving the Summit Crisis
Zamalek Club issued an official statement in response to the Appeals Committee's decision at the Egyptian Football Association to postpone the announcement of its decision regarding the appeals related to the summit match against Al Ahly.
The Egyptian Football Association mentioned in its statement today, Thursday, that the Appeals Committee has postponed the announcement of its decision regarding the appeals submitted to it concerning the Zamalek and Al Ahly match to its session scheduled for May 15 of this month.
In its statement, Zamalek Club clarified that it sent a request to the Appeals Committee at the Football Association to advance the issuance of the final decision before May 13 of this month to ensure matters are settled and justice is achieved.
The statement said: "Continuing the absurd scene and the dominance of randomness over crucial decisions within the game's system, it was not surprising for the Zamalek Club management that attempts to delay the issuance of the Appeals Committee's decision regarding the penalties from the previous summit match continue."
It continued: "The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, on behalf of its great fans everywhere, expresses its condemnation of the current state of affairs regarding the absence of swift justice, lack of transparency and integrity, and it has become clear to everyone how the competition is managed this season by all parties, given the existence of a hidden desire not to apply the regulations and to circumvent them in favor of a particular party at the expense of others, which constitutes a disservice to the reputation of Egyptian sports."
It added: "In contrast, what happened last season is not far from us; at that time, the regulations were clear and the decisions were present, whereas now procrastination has become the adopted method under flimsy justifications."
The statement concluded: "In light of what is happening this season, Zamalek Club will not hesitate to continue taking the legitimate steps that ensure it obtains its rights and the application of the regulations, no matter the cost."
