Disciplinary Committee Punishes Al-Zawraa Club President with Suspension and Fine!!
In a new step that confirms the Iraqi Football Association's commitment to protecting its prestige and the status of its officials, the Disciplinary Committee issued a decision to punish the president of the temporary administrative body of Al-Zawraa Club, Mr. Hussam Ali Hamza, with a suspension and a financial fine, following his transgression against the president of the federation, Mr. Adnan Darjal, during documented statements through a video clip.
According to the official statement issued by the committee, these measures came after a complaint was submitted by the legal department of the federation, which included a video clip documenting the transgressions, prompting the committee to summon Mr. Hussam Hamza to hear his statements regarding what was mentioned in the video.
During his appearance before the committee, Hamza clarified that what he said was not intended to insult the president of the federation, but rather came in the context of evaluating the federation's performance and criticizing its way of working, offering his verbal apology to the committee, with a promise to submit an official apology to be published through the official accounts of Al-Zawraa Club.
Despite being given sufficient time to fulfill this promise, Hamza did not publish any official apology, which the committee considered a breach of his commitments and pledges. One member of the temporary body confirmed that Hamza would submit the apology, but this did not materialize even after a full week had passed.
Accordingly, the Disciplinary Committee, with the full agreement of its members, decided to punish Mr. Hussam Ali Hamza with a three-month suspension from practicing any sports activity, banning him from entering the stadiums, in addition to imposing a financial fine of five million Iraqi dinars, based on the provisions of Article (48) and in accordance with Article (88) of the Disciplinary and Ethical Regulations for the 2024-2025 season. The committee confirmed that the decision is subject to appeal according to the established legal procedures.
This decision serves as a clear message that the federation will not tolerate any transgressions that affect its dignitaries, regardless of the source, and that respect for institutional work and sportsmanship will remain among the core principles of the football system in Iraq.
