Reports have confirmed that Akram Tawfik, the midfielder for Al Ahly, has been excluded from the list for his team's match against Petrojet, scheduled to take place today, Wednesday, as part of the third round of the final stage of the Egyptian Premier League.
Head coach Imad Nasr, who is acting as the manager of Al Ahly, decided to exclude Akram Tawfik from his selected list for the Petrojet match, raising questions about the player's status as his contract approaches its end.
It is worth mentioning that Akram Tawfik has finalized all arrangements to transfer to Al Shamal in Qatar in the summer of 2025, after his contract with Al Ahly ends at the conclusion of the current season.
In this context, media personality Ahmed Shobir stated that Akram Tawfik's journey with Al Ahly is nearing its end after securing his transfer to Al Shamal.
He added: "Akram Tawfik's exclusion from the Petrojet match list does not mean the end of his participation with Al Ahly this season, but he will continue to train normally and may be relied upon according to Imad Nasr's vision."
He continued: "It is highly likely that Akram Tawfik's season with the Red team is coming to an end."
