A Strong Crisis in Al-Ahly Due to Koller’s Dues

Media figure Ahmed Shobir hinted at a strong crisis between Al-Ahly’s management and Marcel Koller due to the latter's financial dues.

Mahmoud El-Khatib, the president of Al-Ahly club, honored Koller and his coaching staff yesterday, expressing gratitude for the achievements made during the past period, and presented the Swiss coach with an Al-Ahly jersey inscribed with: "Thank you, Koller".

Shobir stated in radio remarks: "Al-Ahly honored Marcel Koller in a civilized manner, but of course this is far from the money crisis concerning the man, and it doesn’t mean that the crisis is over just because there was an honor."

He added: "The money crisis is prolonged a bit more, and this honor is a good protocol from Al-Ahly club, and Koller spoke well, but the stage of rights is something that shouldn't be overlooked; the man sees that he has rights in this regard, while Al-Ahly club believes it should end in a certain way."

He concluded: "Amir Tawfiq denied that he drafted the contract, confirming that he only negotiated and that contracts are the responsibility of other people, but these are the recent events concerning the dissolution of the partnership between Koller and Al-Ahly club, and the Swiss coach will leave today if he hasn’t already."
