Sources have revealed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is moving towards imposing a penalty on Al Ahly due to the disturbances caused by its fans on the night of their exit from the Champions League at the hands of Sundowns.

According to press reports, the African federation will impose financial penalties on Al Ahly due to its fans throwing water bottles at the refereeing team after the match ended.

Al Ahly's fans expressed their extreme anger after their team failed to qualify for the African final, as they threw water bottles at coach Marcel Koller while he was leaving the pitch.
