Pyramids' Goalkeeper: We Have Ambitions to Achieve a Huge Accomplishment This Season
Ahmed El-Shenawy, the goalkeeper of Pyramids, spoke about the upcoming match against Orlando Pirates tomorrow, Friday, in the second leg of the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
El-Shenawy confirmed in the press conference before the match: "The draw in South Africa means nothing yet, as it is essential to score in order to qualify."
He added in statements during the press conference: "The players of Pyramids have great ambitions to achieve a huge accomplishment this season, and every player knows the responsibility placed upon them. Our goal is to achieve a treble of the league, cup, and Champions League, and now we have the task of qualifying for the final, and we must focus on that to pass first, then think about the final."
He continued: "I hope we score and qualify, and that the match does not go to penalties to determine the qualification for the final, but in any case, I am fully prepared, as are the other players for any scenario, and everyone will fight to finish the match in regular time, without the need for penalties."
Regarding the potential opponent if reaching the final, El-Shenawy said: "It is important for our team to focus on qualifying, as we have not reached yet, and at that point, we do not look too much at any opponent, whether it is Al Ahly or Sundowns."
He concluded: "The Pyramids team is ready for any opponent afterwards, and I hope to win the Champions League title with Pyramids, after I reached the final before with Zamalek, but I was not fortunate."
