Ahmad Yahya: Luck Abandoned Us and We Will Focus on Upcoming Matches to Regain the Lead

After his team's loss to Al-Zawraa in a crucial match in the 29th round of the Iraqi Stars League, Ahmad Yahya, defender of Al-Shorta team, expressed his deep sadness over the result, confirming that the team gave everything it had but was not fortunate in scoring goals.

In his statements after the match, Ahmad Yahya said:

He stated: "We did not deliver the required performance in the match, even though we entered the game with great motivation and we know the importance of this confrontation for us."

He added: "Al-Zawraa is a strong team, and we faced difficulties in controlling the match, but we were unable to capitalize on the opportunities that were available to us, and that was the difference."

He continued: "I believe that luck was not on our side, especially in the second half when we had some dangerous opportunities like Mimi's shot that hit the crossbar; if the ball had gone in, the situation would have been different."

He concluded: "But we cannot blame anyone; every player gave their all. We must now focus on the upcoming matches and continue our work in an attempt to regain first place."
