Coach Al-Ettifaq: We Were Surprised by the Goals We Conceded from Al-Ittihad
Saad Al-Shahrani, the coach of Al-Ettifaq, confirmed that he is not satisfied with the result of his team's match against Al-Ittihad.
Al-Ettifaq lost to Al-Ittihad with a score of 3-2 on Monday evening in a match that took place as part of the 29th round of the Saudi Professional League.
Al-Shahrani said in the press conference after the match: "I congratulate Al-Ittihad on their victory, but I am not satisfied with the result. In terms of performance, we were good and controlled many aspects of the match, but it is difficult to make mistakes against Al-Ittihad."
He added: "We had many spaces available, but we could not exploit them as we should have, and that is the nature of football. We were surprised by the goals we conceded, and the substitutions helped us improve the team's performance."
Regarding facing the league leaders, Al-Shahrani clarified: "We aimed to increase our possession rate, and it was an important match in terms of testing the team's character and its ability to play against one of the best teams in the league, and we should be sad about the result."
