Ancelotti: This is the time to decide my future, and we will fight for everything

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared in a press conference to talk about tomorrow's match against Athletic Bilbao in the 32nd round of La Liga at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

The coach said: "We need to play a strong match. Both of us have played in Europe, and I congratulate Athletic for reaching the semifinals of the Europa League and getting closer to achieving the dream of the final in San Mames. Bilbao is a strong team and plays excellently. We have had enough time to prepare, and tomorrow we want to continue competing for the La Liga title."

He added: "I have spoken with the club and the players, and we are all committed to fighting for the titles. We feel the pain of being eliminated from the competition in which we achieved the greatest success in recent years, but such things happen in football. You can't always win. We all agree on the same idea, there is no confrontation, and there never was, because we are all in the same situation. Those who talk about a confrontation between me and the president or the players are not telling the truth. This is the moment when the president shows me the utmost affection. This is the reality of this world, where everything is questioned. Even in a club that has won nearly 30 titles in 11 years, I do not feel worried about the questioning at all."

On the team's goals this season: "Winning the Champions League title is the most important competition for all clubs; the history of this competition is the most successful history for the club, but it is also important to compete for the league title and the cup final. We will fight for everything."

He continued: "The Brazilian national team? We will talk about this at the end of the season. Will you continue to coach the team in the Club World Cup? I will discuss this with the club at the end of the season as well; I do not want to talk about my future here. I will talk about my future with the club at the end of the season."

He added: "What has bothered you a lot since your exit from the Champions League? That the club that has won many titles has become a subject of doubt. All I want to do is thank all these players because I have had a great time so far and I want to continue that. We remain united, and we have a great relationship. These players have given me the opportunity to win the Champions League twice in recent years."

He continued: "Are you regretting not asking for new signings? No, I have always had a great relationship with the club, and we will continue in this way forever. Everything we do will always be together. We will never have any kind of confrontation. Saying that there is a confrontation between the club and me is misleading people."

He concluded: "We need to return to positive feelings; we need to regain our cohesion at this final stage because we have conceded many goals in recent matches."
