Al Ahly officials have submitted an important request to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ahead of their match against South Africa's Sundowns tomorrow afternoon, as part of the first leg of the African Champions League semi-finals.
According to sources, Al Ahly's management sent an official letter to CAF to ensure the safety of the team's delegation from any disturbances by the rival Sundowns fans.
Reports indicated that Al Ahly's request to CAF came after the disturbances that occurred during the match between Tunisian club Esperance and Sundowns in the first leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals, where the Tunisian fans were subjected to violence and assault by the South African fans.
