Manchester United Targets Mike Maignan to Replace Onana

Wednesday 16-04-2025
Manchester United is planning to sign French goalkeeper Mike Maignan, the AC Milan goalkeeper, during the upcoming summer transfer window, amid a decline in the performance of Andre Onana.

Onana joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023 from Inter Milan for 50 million euros, but he has not delivered the expected performance and has faced severe criticism, prompting coach Ruben Amorim to exclude him from the squad in the last match.

According to 'Football Italia', United's management has made Maignan their primary option for the goalkeeper position, especially after his contract renewal negotiations with Milan, which ends in June 2026, have stalled.

The French goalkeeper is 29 years old, and the potential deal is estimated at 40 million euros.

Maignan joined Milan in 2021 from Lille for 16.4 million euros, and he has delivered strong performances despite a relative decline in his form this season and numerous injuries, with reports indicating interest from Chelsea and Aston Villa in his services as well.
