Postponement of the Appeals Committee Meeting Regarding Point Deduction from Al Ahly
The Appeals Committee of the Egyptian Football Association responded to the complaint submitted by the Zamalek club management, which called for the relegation of Al Ahly to the fourth division.
The Appeals Committee rejected Zamalek's complaint, based on the fact that Al Ahly announced its withdrawal from the tournament and did not complete the matches of the Egyptian Premier League, in protest against the non-appointment of foreign referees for the summit match.
The committee believes that Zamalek's complaint is illegal, especially since Al Ahly did not officially communicate with the Clubs Association about its withdrawal from the league, as evidenced by the fact that it recently played against Pyramids.
Sources within the Football Association confirmed that the Appeals Committee will postpone its meeting, which was scheduled for Thursday, April 24, indefinitely, with a new meeting date to be determined in the near future.
The sources indicated that most committee members will be unable to attend due to personal commitments, and that April 24 is an official holiday in celebration of Sinai Liberation Day.
