Fiery Decision Shakes Roshan League.. Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli in a Technical Predicament
In a surprising and unexpected move, the Saudi Football Federation has decided to require all Roshan League clubs to include a Saudi assistant coach in their technical staff for the upcoming season.
This decision is not limited to the professional league only, but also includes first and second division clubs, provided that the Saudi assistant holds an accredited coaching certificate.
The assistant is required to possess an "A or PRO" Asian coaching certificate or its equivalent, to ensure high technical qualification in the coaching staff.
While Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad already have Saudi assistants, Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli will need to restructure their technical teams to comply with the decision.
Al-Nassr previously attempted to bring in Saad Al-Shuhri as an assistant to coach Pioli, but Al-Shuhri declined and preferred to lead Al-Ettifaq as head coach.
