Barcelona Avoids Dortmund Comeback and Advances to Champions League Semifinals
Barcelona qualified for the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League, despite losing 3-1 against Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the quarterfinals at the Signal Iduna Park.
The first leg ended with Barcelona winning 4-0 at the Montjuïc Stadium.
Borussia Dortmund took the lead with a penalty scored by Serhou Guirassy in the 11th minute, and the same player added a second goal for Dortmund in the 49th minute of the match.
In the 54th minute, Barcelona reduced the deficit with an own goal by Rami Ben Sabaini after a cross from Firmin on the right flank that Ben Sabaini inadvertently directed into his own net.
In the 76th minute, Serhou Guirassy scored a third goal for Dortmund after a cross from the right side that Araújo mistakenly cleared, allowing Guirassy to easily tap it into the net.
