Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany appeared at a press conference to discuss tomorrow's match against Inter in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

The coach said: "The criticism against Kim Min-jae after the first leg? It’s not about one player. We had several situations where some players were absent. However, we always had the energy to create opportunities and deliver a good performance. When it comes to players individually, we always discuss that internally. I believe in the team and my players."

He added: "Sometimes there are special nights, nights where everything is decided in a single moment. We hope to get opportunities again like in the first leg, perhaps not many. In those moments, we have to be present, we also need to defend well or score goals, belief, we always play to win."

He continued: "We hope to experience a very special night, us and our fans. There is a feeling of excitement and anticipation for this match; it feels just right. It’s between the best team in Italy and the best team in Germany at the moment. Even the stadiums are among the best ever; there’s nothing bigger than that. Quality and talent are also present. The most important thing is to deliver our best performance."

He added: "What will tomorrow's match depend on? On the quality of the opponent and our quality as well; it’s not just about the first minutes. The match could last 90 or 120 minutes. Both teams have great experience, even at the international level; every player knows what’s at stake."

Regarding the possibility of Gnabry starting after his impressive performance against Dortmund in the league: "It’s important that Gnabry, Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman, and Michael Olise are in good shape. Who will start tomorrow? You’ll see that tomorrow; the players delivered a remarkable performance, and we hope they repeat that tomorrow."

He continued: "We need to win, and that’s our mission in every match; we have to do our job, whether in defense or attack. It’s about balancing courage and control. We understand what this match requires."

About Inter's style of play: "You should ask Inter's coach about that; for us, we must be prepared for the possibility that they will press us, and also for the possibility that they will play defensively. We need to make the right decisions at critical moments."

He added: "We have been training for this since our first cup match against Ulm, and we continued to train for it. If it comes down to penalties, it means we did a lot of things right, and we hope to carry that momentum into the shootout."

He stated: "Giuseppe Meazza is not an ordinary stadium; it’s one of the best stadiums in Europe. The atmosphere will be special. We believe in our players and their ability to deliver an exceptional performance in such moments. In matches like this, special memories can be made."

He concluded regarding whether tomorrow's match is crucial for his future: "I thought you would ask me what I will get a new contract (laughs), we are now in mid-April, and we are just one step away from the Champions League semi-finals and three victories away from winning the Bundesliga. If this isn’t a real opportunity, then what is? We live for these opportunities, and nothing else."
