A Surprising Decision from El-Shennawy Regarding His Contract Renewal
Media figure Khaled Al-Ghandour confirmed that Mohamed El-Shennawy, the star of Al Ahly, has made a surprising decision regarding his contract renewal with the club.
El-Shennawy's contract with Al Ahly ends at the end of this season.
Al-Ghandour stated in remarks via "On Sport FM": "To put it simply, Mohamed El-Shennawy changed his mind after Ahmed Mostafa Zizo's transfer to Al Ahly, and he told the club officials: (I can't, I am the captain of Al Ahly and I have won titles with the club, and I'm the number one in Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, renew with this amount while someone from outside comes and takes three times more)."
He added: "Mohamed El-Shennawy told Al Ahly officials: (I want better financial appreciation, especially since the money is available with Zizo's presence)."
He continued: "Al Ahly offered these figures to Zizo to entice him to join the club."
He concluded: "Al Ahly players are talking about how the free player receives a signing bonus, Zizo receives a signing bonus, so why shouldn't he receive a signing bonus?"
