Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared at a press conference to discuss tomorrow's match against Arsenal in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

He began his speech: "The fans will play a crucial role. Their support has helped us a lot in the past, especially in recent years. Tomorrow we need to give our best to try to turn around our deficit in a very difficult match so far."

He added: "What we want is to try to change our mentality and play seriously. With our minds, hearts, and enthusiasm... as Alcaraz says. The team is excited and motivated. We are in excellent physical condition, mentally and psychologically. Keeping our calm is very important to maintain the rhythm of the game."

He emphasized: "Real Madrid has all the capabilities to turn around our deficit in this match. We have the efficiency, commitment, and experience that many players possess, along with our fans. The potential is there; we just need to show the best of each of us. In previous years, it has not been said that we played fantastic football, and that may be true. More than just brilliance, we want to play effective football."

Regarding the team's strategy for tomorrow: "What I want to explain to the players is the necessity of having a clear strategy for the match. We are thinking about it. We will try something in training, and I want the players to go onto the pitch with very clear ideas. I will try to explain it as clearly as possible. With this clarity, the player is capable of achieving better individual performance."

He continued: "We will try to present a strong match, and we will try to pressure and control more than we did in the first leg. There is no magic, because it does not exist, I want to convince the players to try to give their all. The only thing we are sure of is that we will give our best effort."

On his opinion about Arsenal: "They are a very organized team, they may not have great experience, but they have a clear idea of what to do, defensively and offensively. They focus intensely on what they need to do and concentrate on it more than on the atmosphere."

He added: "How to turn negative things into positive? With the confidence and seriousness needed in tough times, in difficult times, you need to have more energy. I feel good, and I hope this is not the last match in this tournament, it is very special. More than just worry, I am excited to be the champion of these matches from the bench. This enthusiasm allows me to keep my calm."

Regarding the team running less than Arsenal in the last match: "We need a little bit of everything, a mix of the quality we excel at, along with team spirit. None of these things can fail."

On Mbappe's condition after his red card against Alaves: "He was feeling disappointed, he trained well yesterday, and he was very motivated. We need him; we not only have to defend but also need to score goals. More than ever, we need his goals tomorrow."

He continued: "I don't think scoring early will be decisive; of course, an early goal is important for the match. But the most important thing is to have good control of the game and give your best effort from the start. When you control the game well, you can score at any moment."

He concluded: "Will tomorrow's match be decisive for your future? No, I don't think so. Will Valverde play? I don't know yet."
