Barcelona Closes the Door on Nico Williams

The outlines of Barcelona's plan for the upcoming 2025/2026 season are gradually becoming clearer, amid the successes the team is achieving this season and the possibility of winning the treble "La Liga, the Cup, and the Champions League."

According to what was revealed by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Barcelona's management has decided to exclude the signing of winger Nico Williams, the star of Athletic Bilbao, after a period of his name being linked to the Catalan club.

The newspaper also indicated that Barcelona will not sign a new striker to replace Robert Lewandowski, as the management believes the team has sufficient attacking solutions with Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo, who are capable of playing the number 9 position if needed.

On the other hand, the club is focusing its efforts in the summer transfer market on signing a midfielder and a defender, to strengthen the squad in line with the needs of the coaching staff and the requirements of financial fair play.

This approach is part of the financial balance policy, which was also reflected in the decision to renew defender Iñigo Martínez's contract for an additional season, after he was previously close to leaving due to financial constraints.
