The international Spanish referee, Antonio Sánchez Martínez, has been appointed by UEFA to officiate the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final match between Aston Villa and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled to take place next Wednesday at Villa Park.

This match is considered a tactical battle between Unai Emery, the head coach of Aston Villa, and Luis Enrique, the head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, as the French team enters the match with an advantage of 3-1 from the first leg in Paris.

This encounter will be the seventh for the Spanish referee in the current edition of the Champions League, having previously officiated four matches in the group stage, one match in the playoff round, and another in the first leg of the Round of 16. He has never officiated a match involving either Aston Villa or Paris Saint-Germain in European competitions.

Sánchez Martínez will be accompanied by a full Spanish officiating crew, with Alejandro Muñiz Ruiz serving as the fourth official, while Carlos del Cerro Grande will work in the video assistant referee room alongside his colleague Soto Grado.
