Egyptian football received the news of the passing of Ibrahim Shika, the former Zamalek player, on Saturday, after a long battle with cancer.

Ibrahim Shika's family announced his death via social media today, Saturday, after he underwent a lengthy treatment period in hopes of recovering from his illness.

It is worth noting that Ibrahim Shika appeared in several photos on social media alongside his wife, showing the effects of cancer on his frail body and exhausted features.

Shika suffered from rectal cancer, which caused him to lose a significant amount of weight, and his facial features changed, in addition to his reliance on a wheelchair.

Shika began his football journey in the youth ranks of Zamalek as a left-back and later represented both Arab Contractors and Tala'ea El Gaish.
