Barcelona Seeks to Strengthen Goalkeeping Position

Additionally, they have qualified for the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, bringing the dream of a treble closer.

At the same time, German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is continuing his recovery, eager to return before the end of the season and participate with the German national team in the UEFA Nations League, which could be his first official tournament as the first-choice goalkeeper following Manuel Neuer's absence.

While the management has confidence in ter Stegen, they are looking to extend the contract of Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny for an additional season to share responsibilities next season. Among the prominent candidates is Alex Remiro, the goalkeeper from Real Sociedad, who has impressed Deco. According to Spanish newspaper 'Sport', Barcelona has reached out to the player's camp, and Deco is closely monitoring his performance in several matches. Remiro's contract runs until 2027, but the buyout clause of €70 million will decrease in 2026, making him a realistic target for Barça.

Remiro has played 42 matches with Real Sociedad across all competitions, totaling 3,810 minutes, during which he conceded 52 goals and kept a clean sheet in 15 matches.
