The Truth About Disputes Between Abu Rida and Hossam Hassan
Thursday 10-04-2025
Media figure Khaled Al-Ghandour denied the existence of disputes between Hani Abu Rida, the president of the Football Association, and Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the national team, regarding the upcoming June camp.

Al-Ghandour stated on Al-Mahwar channel: "A source in the Football Association confirmed that there are no crises; the only issue is that Hossam Hassan wanted to play a friendly match against a strong team, with the full presence of Al-Ahly players and the professionals."

He added: "Abu Rida is not plotting against Hossam Hassan nor is he waiting for the national team to lose a friendly match in June to dismiss the coaching staff. The judgment on them will be made during the Africa Cup of Nations at the end of this year in Morocco. In case of failure, they will be thanked and a new coach will be appointed to lead the team in the 2026 World Cup."

He continued: "The source confirmed that there is an ongoing agreement with a strong African team, as Hossam Hassan requested, to hold a friendly match featuring new faces among the players, away from Al-Ahly and the professionals, with Comoros Islands being the closest option so far."
