Mbappe Triumphs in Round of His Legal Battle Against Paris Saint-Germain

Thursday 10-04-2025
French star Kylian Mbappe, currently a player for Real Madrid and formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, has entered into a legal dispute with his former club after claiming nearly £50 million in overdue payments, as confirmed by his legal team.

Mbappe left Paris Saint-Germain last summer to join Real Madrid, but he insists that the club still owes him €55 million in salaries, prompting his lawyers to take legal action.

Lawyer Thomas Clay stated that the French court has allowed the seizure of the amount from PSG's accounts, which has already been executed today, while a hearing has been scheduled for May 26 to follow up on the case.

Delfine Verhaeghen, Mbappe's lead attorney, confirmed that attempts for an amicable resolution lasted for a year without success, adding: "It is time to take action after all peaceful attempts have failed."

Mbappe's team has also called for the intervention of the French sports minister to challenge the decision of the Football Association's Appeals Committee, which previously rejected the player's claim, in addition to urging UEFA to open an investigation that could threaten the Parisian club's participation in the Champions League.

It is worth noting that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain could face each other this season in the Champions League if the royal team manages to overturn their heavy loss to Arsenal by three goals to nil.
