Al Ahly Close to Finalizing Deal for Zamalek Defender
Media personality Ibrahim Abdel Jawad confirmed that Al Ahly is close to finalizing the deal for Mahmoud Hamdi El-Wench, the Zamalek defender, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The player's contract with Zamalek will end at the end of this season, and no agreement has been reached for renewal so far.
Ibrahim Abdel Jawad stated on Facebook: "The meeting between Zamalek officials and El-Wench yesterday did not yield any new developments, and we are waiting for another meeting today.. so far, El-Wench is closer to Al Ahly.. the coming hours are decisive."
Zamalek failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the African Confederation Cup after losing to Stellenbosch 1-0 in the second leg of the quarter-finals, with the first leg ending in a goalless draw 0-0.
