Statements by Biserro Before the Modern Sport Match
Jose Biserro, the coach of Zamalek, spoke about tomorrow's match against Modern Sport, which will take place as part of the Cairo Capital Cup.
Biserro said in the press conference before the match: "We will play an important match tomorrow against Modern Sport in the Cairo Capital Cup, and there are significant questions regarding some teams not playing their matches tomorrow in the tournament. He emphasized that Zamalek will play despite the short time after the match against Stellenbosch in the first leg of the Confederation Cup quarter-finals."
He continued: "There will be a training session tomorrow for the group of players excluded from the match against Modern Sport, to prepare them for the match against Stellenbosch in the second leg of the Confederation Cup quarter-finals, and I will lead the training myself at three o'clock in the afternoon, before heading to Cairo Stadium to lead the team in the match against Modern Sport. This is the first time in history that this happens to me, and I need to adapt, and I hope it will be the last time."
He added: "We aim to achieve victory in tomorrow's match, and we play the Cairo Capital Cup matches with the available players, and we play every match to win. We will do our utmost to achieve victory, and sometimes luck is on our side, and sometimes there are shortcomings from the team. There is a great responsibility on any player wearing the Zamalek jersey in every match."
Biserro continued: "We must approach tomorrow's match to win against Modern Sport, and the schedule is what forced us to play the match. Today's training will be divided into two parts: the first for the group of players who will participate in tomorrow's match, and the second part will be for the excluded players due to the fatigue experienced after the return trip from South Africa. Tomorrow's match is an opportunity for new players to prove themselves, and the group that will participate has not played much together, and there must be sacrifices from everyone."
He added: "We did not play the matches against Al-Jouna and Petrojet with the full starting lineup, and in the match against Petrojet, defensive errors caused us to concede two goals. We want to be organized on the field and not make mistakes in tomorrow's match."
He said: "Mostafa Shalaby and Abdullah El-Said are out of tomorrow's match, and El-Said has become ready to participate in matches. I hope Shalaby can participate in training normally, and the player's condition will be evaluated in today's training after he suffered fatigue in the previous match against Stellenbosch."
