Kierush's Position on Coaching Al Ahly
The Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, former coach of the Egyptian national team, has entered the list of candidates to lead Al Ahly club in the event of the dismissal of Swiss coach Marcel Koller.
Reports indicate that the Al Ahly management has begun to consider dismissing Koller before the Club World Cup due to a decline in performance and results domestically.
According to reports, Queiroz prefers not to coach clubs and is looking to lead one of the national teams participating in the 2026 World Cup.
It is worth mentioning that Queiroz took over the Egyptian national team in 2021 during the Arab Cup and also the Africa Cup of Nations, where he achieved the runner-up position but failed to lead the Pharaohs to the 2022 World Cup, losing to Senegal in penalties, after which he was dismissed.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly officials are discussing Koller’s future and whether he will be given another chance or dismissed before the Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States.
