The Spanish Football Federation has announced the appointment of international referee Jesús Gil Manzano to officiate the match between Barcelona and Real Betis, scheduled for Saturday at the Montjuïc Stadium as part of the 30th round of La Liga. Valentín Pizarro Gómez will take charge of the VAR duties.

Manzano carries unpleasant memories for Barcelona fans, having previously sent off Robert Lewandowski against Osasuna in November 2022, which resulted in a three-match suspension for the Polish star.

Despite this, Barcelona has won all three matches officiated by Manzano this season, most notably the Supercopa de España final against Real Madrid, which ended in a 5-2 victory for Barcelona.

As for Real Betis, Manzano has officiated two matches for them this season, resulting in a 1-0 win against Atlético Madrid and a 3-0 victory over Real Sociedad.

Overall, Manzano has officiated 42 matches for Barcelona in La Liga, during which the team achieved 27 victories, while he has managed 34 matches for Real Betis, leading to 14 wins.
