The German club Borussia Dortmund is preparing to make a new offer to sign French midfielder Ryan Cherki from Olympique Lyon during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to media reports.

The German club had attempted to sign the 21-year-old player last summer, but their initial offer of €22.5 million was rejected by Lyon's management, and the second attempt during the winter transfer window also failed for the same reason.

The German newspaper 'Ruhr Nachrichten' reported that Dortmund is keen to finalize the deal this summer, with the club ready to increase the offer to €30 million, amid interest from other European clubs, notably Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool.

John Textor, the owner of Lyon, criticized Dortmund's previous attempts to sign Cherki, describing the first offer as disrespectful and far below the player's market value, and it came at an inappropriate time.

Cherki has been delivering impressive performances this season, scoring 6 goals and providing 9 assists in 23 matches in Ligue 1, and he has also contributed to Lyon's qualification for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League, where the team is set to face Manchester United.
