The final meeting between Bayern Munich and Thomas Müller is scheduled to take place this week to make the final decision regarding the player's fate, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg on Monday.
Plettenberg stated that unless something unexpected occurs, Müller will not sign a new contract and is set to leave Bayern after this season - possibly after the Club World Cup.
He noted that the main motivation for the Bavarian club behind this move is to save on the player's salary (around 17 million euros annually). However, Müller has expressed his willingness to play for an additional season.
The club sees Müller having a future in management, but it is not planned for him to be a board member in the near term. It is also likely that he will continue his football career abroad for the time being.
